Drypoint is the simplest intaglio process, using a sharp metal point called a drypoint needle. With this tool, you scratch the line directly on to a metallic material or simply a sheet of plastic. By doing this you create on both sides of the line a ridge known as the burr which holds a quantity of ink, which then prints as a rich feathery smudge.
BookingThis exhibition Draw and Bite will show works using the process of the etched metal plate printed on paper. The exhibition will be built around tones of black and/or sepia ink. Mai was delighted to have received Open Call submissions of over 50 etchings for the “Draw and Bite” exhibition in the gallery, Russ Hill Print Room Etching Club and Ochre Print Studio Etchers will exhibit work with selected SVAF members.
